WeTab
Compiling Mumble on the WeTab is possible, but requires compiling protobuf beforehand.
First of all, installing the openssh-server package is very advisable, as it will give you a shell to be used on a device which has a keyboard - of course, your mileage may vary. :)
I executed the following commands in a root shell started via ``sudo bash``, so I won't prefix every command with sudo here. We start by installing a bunch of dependencies:
yum install make gcc-c++ yum install git yum install openssl-devel yum install alsa-lib-devel yum install libsndfile-devel yum install pulseaudio-devel yum install speex-devel yum install subversion yum install libtool yum install boost-devel yum install avahi-compat-libdns_sd-devel yum install libqtopengl-devel
Next, compile and install protobuf:
svn checkout http://protobuf.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ protobuf-read-only cd protobuf-read-only/ ./autogen.sh ./configure make make check make install
This command will install protobuf to /usr/local, which is why we need to adapt the $PATH environment variable accordingly. Otherwise, the build process won't be able to find protoc.
export PATH="/usr/local/bin:$PATH"
Now, compile mumble:
git clone https://github.com/mumble-voip/mumble.git cd mumble/ git submodule init git submodule update qmake -recursive CONFIG+=no-server CONFIG+=no-overlay CONFIG+=no-g15 CONFIG+=no-speechd main.pro make clean make
Now you should be able to start Mumble as your normal user (that is, not root), by opening a new shell and running the following commands:
cd mumble/release LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib ./mumble
