==Mumble Features and Basic Configuration==
Ok. So you have Mumble installed. Now you are probably wondering what to do next. Here's a rundown of the basics of Mumble.
# Mumble is built around the Qt (cute) SDK, and makes up much of the GUI part of the code.
# When you first start Mumble, it will ask you if you want to go through the Audio Wizard and Certificate Wizard. ''You should''. And don't just rush through it. Carefully read each step, and find out what the Wizard is asking you. Especially pay attention to the voice activation pages; you don't want everyone complaining that they can't hear you or that they hear you ''too much''.
# Mumble's default config has basic options, but it does not include all of them. If you want to tweak all the components of Mumble, go to Configure -> Settings and check "Advanced" at the bottom left corner of the Configuration window. If you see a step below that has '''Advanced Config''', like that, then you need to have Advanced Config turned on.
# '''Advanced Config''' Mumble has an Overlay. Many people like it, many do not. This overlay is displayed at the top right of your screen when you are playing a game. You can configure it, or turn it off, by going to Configure -> Settings and clicking the ''Overlay'' section.
# '''Advanced Config''' Mumble has positional auto for certain [http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Games games]. This means that when enabled, the audio transmitted in Mumble will appear to emanate from your in-game avatar. If you have games on that list, and wish to use PA (positional audio), turn on Advanced config, go to the Plugins section, check "Link to Game and Transmit Position," then go to the Audio Output section, check "Positional Audio," and then check "Heaphones" (if you are using headphones). Most people like to hear each other clearly all the time, so it is recommended that you set "Minimum Volume" to at least 90%.
# '''Advanced Config''' Plugin updates are something that is required many times, because when a game is patched, the memory addresses used to fetch the positional data changes. This calls for a recompile of the plugin. In Mumble 1.2.0, the plugins are automatically downloaded when they are updated.
==Registration and Permissions; Murmur==
If you are a server admin, or you need to figure out how to set up channels for yourself or others, you need to read [http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Murmurguide#Becoming_Administrator_and_Registering_a_User this]. Read both "Becoming Administrator and Registering a User" and "ACLs."
